Hey guys! My name is Colleen, and I graduated from high school back in 2021 as ATAR Dux with a 98.7 ATAR. I really didn't like studying for long hours, so instead I focused all my attention on understanding the most important concepts for each subject that I knew the examiners would definitely be looking for! This allowed me to be pretty efficient with my studies, and by maintaining a weekly to-do list as well as using different revision methods to suit the needs of each subject, it made the hours somewhat bearable. I believe that the key to success in high school is to consistently work towards achieving your goals and to never give up, even when subjects get challenging. The short answer is, only through consistency can you really see the results happen in real time. I want to pass on this disciplined way of working to YOU! I use the very same study skills I developed in high school now at university, as I work towards completing my double degree in Civil Engineering and Finance at Curtin University. Those skills allowed me to secure my engineering degree with a top excellence scholarship, and my goal-oriented mindset has been vital during my engineering internships. In my time at university, I ignited my passion for teaching by tutoring students from my high school and some first-year engineering students who were struggling in their subjects. I really feel happy when I see my students feel proud about understanding something they once struggled with, or trying my study tips and improving their skills. When I’m not studying or working, I love spending way too much money eating at restaurants, going on road trips, and binging shows.
