Hello, Guys! 👋
Hello! I'm Christian, a tutor studying a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University. I have a passiong for both biology and mathematics and I bring both knowledge and experience to help ensure your success.
The idea that VCE is a huge competition and that its only use is help you achieve a "good" ATAR that will hopefully get you into a “good” university is a concerning, but prevalent notion that exists within the student body. For many, this environment can lead to one's final years of high school being overly stressful and thoroughly unenjoyable, which itself hinders your performance.
It might sound cliché, but balance is key. Things like continuing to hang out with friends, maintaining the activities you enjoy, and remaining engaged with school even beyond the academic side all contribute to achieving a postive outcome. During high school, playing sports like Badminton and Water Polo all year round helped me maintain that balance. It also spurred my interest in biology and I became fascinated by the mechanics of how our body functions to allow us to do the amazing things we do!
I tutor Biology, Mathematical Methods and secondary school math. My goal is to not only help students' achieve their academic goals, but to instil a innate passion within students' for what they are learning. It is often the case that students will get caught up in memorising formulas or rehearsing specific exam responses. This technique restricts a student's capacity to understand and can often lead to unsucessful results. My goal is for students to focus on why methods work and how concepts are interconnected. This, in turn, enables students to apply their knowledge confidently even in unfamiliar questions.
