Billy
Hey, Im Billy and I graduated from Queensland's top performing school, Queensland academy of Maths, Science and Technology in 2022 with an IB 43 (99.35 ATAR) and magna cum laude honours. I am currently studying medicine at James cook univeristy and the the subjects I took in highschool were
Chemistry higher level- 7/7 (11% above the boundary for the highest possible mark)
Biology higher level - 7/7 (5% above boundary)
Economics higher level - 7/7 (5% above boundary)
Japanese ab initio SL- 7/7 (5% above boundary)
Maths AI SL- 7/7 (8% above the boundary)
English language and literature 6/7 (I will provide tutoring for the IO as i got 39/40)
For me personally, I never did that well in school. At Brisbane Grammar school, I was studying all the time and would only get B's and some A's. When I went to Queensland Academy in grade 10, I would work even harder and still be on a low 6 GPA.
In the Grade 11 holidays, I reflected as to why I wasn't getting the benefits from my hard study and realised that my study system was flawed. After fixing this, I was able to not only start Grade 12 and graduate with a 6.83 GPA, I had more time for myself to do the hobbies i enjoy.
I believe that biggest thing I learnt from my reflection was the importance of actively engaging in study, and not just passively learning the content. I will be able to share with you my study and productivity tips and teach you so that you will only have to learn a concept once and never forget it.
I personally have researched teaching methods and found the most efficient way to tutor you so that you not only excel, but have less strees in high school!
