Hello, Guys! 👋
Hello everyone! Thank you for checking out my bio. My name is Alice, and I am currently a university student at the University of Melbourne. I am studying dentistry, first I will complete a bachelor of science and then onto the guranteed pathway of the doctor of dental surgery, which I'm super excited about. It is a seven-year-long course altogether, and I was shocked to realise that I will be graduating in 2032 — yes, when the Brisbane Olympics are planned.
In high school, I achieved top marks in chemistry, math methods, and Japanese. I was awarded the chemistry award by the Royal Australian Institute of Chemistry, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Gold Coast's elite private school, Somerset College, and was one of the few Lorraine Pilgrim Medal recipients.
A little more about myself apart from the academic side of things: I love heading to the gym with friends, family, and current students. I think this is a great hobby as it increases your happy hormones (endorphins, etc.) and relieves stress. I also really enjoy playing the piano, drawing, and playing team sports like volleyball and tennis. Another thing that I love is travelling. Fun fact: I travelled to 12 different cities for my grad trip! My favourite destination so far has to be Thailand, I find myself at Suvarnabhumi Airport way too often.
Now, a bit of information with regards to my tutoring experience; I began tutoring students in Year 11, so I do have quite a bit of experience with both younger primary school children and older high school students. I like to keep my students engaged and interested in my lessons, as I think it is important that they view education and learning as something fun. Additionally, I focus on developing not only a student's grades but also their confidence, study habits, and critical-thinking skills so that, even after their schooling journey, they are able to thrive as intelligent, independent adults.
