Hello, Guys! 👋
Hey there!
My name is Zayma, and I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne as a Chancellor’s Scholar, with guaranteed entry into the Doctor of Medicine. Outside of uni, I value balance - spending time with friends and family, being creative, and making sure that life isn't just about studying.
I graduated high school as dux with a perfect IB score of 45, converting to a nominal ATAR of 99.95. I have also placed within the top 3 students within Victoria in the annual Berthe Mouchette French Competition in the past 3 years. On top of this, I have also recieved awards for my continuous community service and academic achievement throughout high school, including subject duces in IB Mathematics AA SL, Psychology HL, and French B SL.
I’m really passionate about helping students reach their goals without burning out. I don’t believe success has to come from endless hours of study. Rather, It’s much more about learning how to study efficiently and understanding what actually works for you.
I have been in the private and voluntary tutoring industries for over 3 years now, privately tutoring high school students in French and English over the past year, especially enjoying creating tailored study routines and resources that suit how each student learns best. I’ve also volunteered weekly for over three years at St Andrew’s Church in Corio, working with students aged 8 to 16 from the Karen refugee community and supporting their English and Maths skills.
That experience really shaped how I teach: with patience, flexibility, and a focus on building confidence as well as understanding.
In tutoring sessions, we’ll cover the content properly, but we’ll also work on study strategies, organisation, and confidence so students feel in control of their learning, not overwhelmed by it.
I’d love to offer a free 30-minute consult to get to know you and understand how I can support you on your academic journey!
