My goal is to make maths feel less overwhelming and more manageable. I especially enjoy helping students turn concepts that initially seem confusing into something they can approach with confidence.
In a typical lesson, I like to first identify what a student understands and where they are getting stuck, before working through the concept together. Depending on their needs, this might involve breaking down a difficult topic step-by-step, practising questions together, revisiting gaps from previous years, or working through exam-style questions to build accuracy and confidence. For example, with topics such as fractions, algebra, equations and geometry, I focus on helping students understand why a method works rather than simply memorising steps.
