Hey, I'm Nelson! I'm a kiwi studying a Bachelor of Economics (Finance and Economics) at the University of Sydney, after graduating with a 43/45 (99.35 ATAR) in the IB (first in school).
I tutor IB, HSC, and general curricula in English, Economics, and History. I've spent the past two years helping students build both confidence and results, logging close to 100 hours of tutoring last year alone.

Outside of tutoring, you'll find me watching football (soccer) or Formula 1, playing piano or guitar, experimenting in the kitchen, or working on graphic design projects.
My approach to tutoring is built on breaking down complex ideas into clear, logical steps. I focus on teaching students how to think through a problem, not just what to memorise, so they walk away with skills that carry beyond the classroom and the exam.
Additionally, flexibility is at the core of how I tutor - every student learns differently, so I take time to understand their individual goals and challenges before shaping a lesson plan around them. For example, as exams draw closer, I focus more heavily on breaking down marking rubrics and past papers, ensuring the student can provide exactly what the marker is looking for.
Lastly, as a recent high school survivor, I have a current, first-hand understanding of exam structures and course content. This is something especially valuable given how often school curricula change. This keeps me well-equipped to guide students with exactly what they need to know, not outdated material.
