Hi there! I’m Michael, and I’m currently studying mathematics at the University of Melbourne. I recently graduated from high school in South Australia, achieving a raw ATAR of 99.40, alongside a perfect score of 20 / 20 in Headstart Studies in mathematics at Adelaide University in Year 12. During high school, I developed a strong interest in maths, English, and science, and as a tutor, I am committed to transferring these interests into supporting students in building up their confidence in these subjects.
I aim to create a positive and interactive learning environment tailored to each student’s needs and interests by incorporating study habits and lessons I have learned over my academic journey. Juggling school, work, and nearly 20 hours a week of volleyball training in Year 12, I felt like I had to study smarter and manage my time more effectively. This encouraged me to set goals and checkpoints to streamline my study, and learn to digest difficult material by breaking down problems, and tackling them from various angles. Most importantly, I built connections between my subjects and my own interests.
My goals as a tutor is to help students overcome these same challenges I faced. Whether it’s making a tricky subject more manageable or preparing for end-of-year exams, I’m here to share my experience and hopefully turn studying into an enjoyable process. I believe that with the right habits and enough interest, anybody can turn a subject that they once found difficult into one they feel confident and passionate about!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. :)
