Manuri
Hey!! I’m Manuri Jayawardhana, and the absolute adoration I have for the subjects I studied in year 12 stretches on for longer than my name – and now I’m here to help you feel the same way about school!
I graduated from high school with an ATAR of 97.30 and A+ Merits in Research Project, Legal Studies and the love of my life, English Lit Studies. One of the key things I learnt throughout my time in school is that the first step to making sure that you perform well in any subject is to develop a genuine interest in it. I believe that any student, regardless of the current grades they are getting, can, with the right help, completely turn their opinion on a subject around, and in turn, take their best shot at getting the grades they want to get. And I’d be delighted to support you to get there!
I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Arts (Advanced) degree at the University of Adelaide, and besides spending a frankly absurd amount of time reading (seriously – it’s becoming a bit of a problem), I mostly divide the breaks I have from work between hanging out with my friends and family and going to the gym. I’ve found that having a flexible, but well-adhered to, schedule helps a ton with managing time and stress effectively, which is of course crucial to making sure that you achieve your best at school, and in life in general.
For me, learning is first and foremost about cultivating a substantial amount of curiosity, then working towards your goal in manageable steps. If that sounds like a plan you can get behind, come on in – I’m sure we’ll be an iconic pair!
