Johanna
Hi there! My name is Johanna and I hated studying so much in high school, that I would fake sick days and skip class to drink Gong Cha in Burwood Park (go to school kids, this did NOT produce good grades). This was until Y12, when I turned my mentality towards school around and found a career purpose in Medicine that motivated me to achieve an all-round achiever result. It’s my goal now to help students like you that might also struggle with finding motivation as well as fighting procrastination and perfectionism.
It's my belief that every student is capable of falling in love with learning – whether it is through refining a backhand in tennis or memorising Shakespeare quotes. I want to inspire you to connect your time in school with your passions and dreams, while providing an engaging and supportive environment. At the same time, I know how difficult studying can be and aim to provide you with the right tools to study efficiently and minimise burnout.
I’m confident in my ability to improve your learning journey, as I was able to grow from low marks/attendance to achieving the top marks for both Advanced English and Geography. Moreover, I have been able to maintain and benefit from this mindset post-school, as I graduated with a distinction average from a Bachelor of Clinical Science at Macquarie University as well as a 98 percentile GAMSAT result. Additionally, I am embarking on my first year of post-graduate Medicine after receiving offers from both the University of Sydney and the University of Melbourne.
I am also a big believer in balancing study with proper fun stuff of life. I spend my time outside of work and university, with friends, cooking, reading, hiking and travelling the world.
