Hi there! My name is Jaime, and I am very grateful for you giving my profile a look as your new potential tutor. I recently graduated high school with an ATAR of 99.3 and am currently studying a Bachelor of Philosophy, Politics and Economics with a direct pathway to the Juris Doctor at the University of Western Australia.
When it came to academics at school my strong suit was always humanities. I received my school’s award for top student in Politics and Law and Literature, as well as the prize for Excellence in Humanities. My responses in my Politics and Law and Literature WACE exams were also included in the Good Answer Guides for those subjects. As your tutor, I will assist you to develop the skills to succeed in these essay-based subjects.
My focus as a tutor will be on improving your study skills and your understanding of course content. I’m very happy to tutor you in a specific subject, or assist you across the breadth of subjects that I have a level of expertise in. This includes helping you to maximise your marks to achieve the highest level of success possible for you, whether that is passing the subject or topping your cohort. This also extends across all year levels, as I am happy to support students at any age level.
During school, I balanced academics with significant extracurricular commitments. I participated in drama, debating, mock trials and various sports. While in Year 12, I was selected as a member of the Australian Debating Team which required me to travel to Vietnam for a month in June of Year 12 to compete in the World Schools Debating competition. While juggling school with the pressure of a representative team was difficult, it taught me the value of time management to succeed academically under difficult circumstances. While school was always a priority for me, I understand that a student’s athletic or creative passions should never be neglected in the name of academics, as I believe this can be incredibly unhealthy and unnecessary. I will assist you in becoming increasingly productive, so that you do not have to sacrifice your goals outside of school for academic success.
