Hello, Guys! 👋
Hi! I'm Gus.
I'm currently a second year student at Adelaide University, studying a Bachelor of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, throughout which I have maintained a perfect 7.0 GPA thus far. I graduated my secondary education at Glenunga International High School via the SACE curriculum with an ATAR of 98.15 in 2024. Since 2025, I have accumulated a year of experience within the field of tutoring and being a student assistant, by having worked at Kumon for a year before coming over to the KIS team.
With that introduction aside, I want it to be known that I have a deep love and respect for the pursuit of academic interests, with my personal favourite topics being mathematics (I absolutely adore calculus... and most other branches of maths - though I feel statistics could always do with being a bit more enjoyable sometimes!), computer science & coding, physics, and more recently - music theory. Currently, I only work as a tutor for mathematics over at KIS Academics, but hope to diversify my available services at some point soon! I am available for both online, and in-person tutoring.
I want it to be known, however, that despite my appropriately high ATAR, I started my studies in highschool with low C grades(!!!), so I completely understand the struggle that comes with trying to wrap your head around difficult (or even traditionally 'easy') concepts, and foster and develop interests in them. In addition to that, I also have a deep and personal relation with the autism and ADHD experience - after all, I'm both on the spectrum and have ADHD :P !!!
From my experiences, I've come to learn that one of (if not the most) important intricacies when it comes to improving both ones interest, and skills, in any subject or topic, is being able to explore it with the help of another person, in a safe one-on-one environment! As a result, I try to compel all of my students with my supportive, relatable, and bright demeanour, and hope to be able to provide a safe space where they can feel comfortable discussing whatever they wish - even if it's not immediately related to the lesson (let's try to stay on task though ofc)!
Anyways, I hope I can be of help 🙂↕️!
