David
Hi! I’m David, and I am currently studying a dual Bachelor of Mathematics/Computer Science at UQ. My high school education was filled with passionate learners at Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics and Technology and I thoroughly enjoyed the challenging International Baccalaureate (IB) program taught there, achieving an IB 40 or an ATAR 98.05 as equivalent for the time.
I have over three years of experience teaching essentially all maths curriculums in Queensland, specialising in senior students looking to excel. In particular, I am someone who can help you with senior exams, and how to maximise your mark in the shortest time possible.
I have always been passionate about mathematics and have participated in many competitions throughout high school, such as:
- First Place at UQ/QAMT Problem Solving Competition Year 7-8 division, 2016.
- Participated in the pathway program run by the Australian Mathematical Olympiad Committee, 2017-2020.
- Participated in the Australian Mathematics Olympiad competition, 2020.
- Perfect Score in the Computational and Algorithmic Thinking competition, 2021.
As such, my understanding of mathematics is detailed and I believe that through a friendly approach to tutoring, I can help students better understand mathematics. Throughout high school, I would always look for the best ways to study efficiently, as although I enjoyed learning math I didn't like the idea of spending long hours studying at home. So I think I can provide useful ideas to speed up your study and learning, and alsoto make it more enjoyable.
I have a variety of hobbies and love to seek out new things constantly. However, some interests stay put, such as my love for electronic music, chess and table tennis.
