Sophie
Hello! I'm Sophie and I'm currently studying Medicine at Monash University. I graduated with a 99.55 ATAR and a study score of 50 in General Maths.
I teach VCE General Maths (Units 1–4), as well as Maths and English for Years 5–10. With over 4 years of experience working with students of various academic backgrounds, I tailor each lesson to the student’s pace and learning style. My goal is to make things click — whether that means breaking down tricky concepts, practising exam-style questions, or just building up confidence over time.
One of the best parts of tutoring is watching students grow more confident in themselves. I’ve had students tell me I explain things in a way that actually makes sense, that they looked forward to our sessions, and that they achieved more than they thought possible. A few have even said I felt “more like a friend than a tutor” — which, to me, means they felt supported, and that matters just as much as the academic results.
Outside of study and tutoring, I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie — I’ve been skydiving — but I also love quieter things like pilates and making matcha at home. I bring a mix of energy, patience, and structure to my lessons, and I’m always ready to meet students where they’re at.
